Cummins Releases 2007 Sustainability Report on the Web

Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) today announced that it has released its fifth annual Sustainability Report on the Company web site, www.cummins.com. A print version of the report will be available in May.

The 102-page report, the Companys most comprehensive to date, details Cummins environmental and corporate responsibility efforts while also providing a corporate overview and highlights from the past year.

While Cummins is a leader in developing new products to meet tough emission standards, I am equally impressed by the work people in our plants are doing to reduce energy usage and focus on the prudent use of our natural resources, said Cummins Chairman and CEO Tim Solso. Corporate responsibility and working toward a cleaner, healthier, safer environment are primary components of Cummins commitment to sustainability. Since the publication of the 2006 Sustainability Report, the Company has had a number of achievements on behalf of its stakeholders including:

  • The fourth straight year of record financial performance and a five-year average annual total shareholder return of 58 percent.
  • The launch of exciting new products in 2007, including engines that meet tough global emissions standards.
  • Expansion of the Companys Customer Support Excellence initiatives to all parts of the corporation.

  • Inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for the third straight year.

The report was prepared following the spirit of guidelines established by the Global Reporting Initiative. The aim of the GRI is to develop a consistent way for companies around the world to voluntarily report on the economic, environmental and social components of their business.
