Fuelcast Media Network, Inc. and Spacenet to Offer New Digital Media Services Using Advanced Satellite Technology

Spacenet Inc., a leading provider of advanced satellite networking services for enterprise and government, announced today that it is teaming with Fuelcast Media Network, Inc. to offer new digital media services to gas and convenience stores using advanced satellite technology. Fuelcast uses Spacenets satellite services to support its growing digital private network currently used by over 500 stores in North America. Fuelcast offers state-of-the-art media solutions to petroleum retailers worldwide by providing video information and entertainment to motorists fueling vehicles at the pump.

Spacenet has provided Fuelcast with enterprise-grade Connexstar satellite network services to support its digital network over the past few years. Fuelcast is now upgrading its satellite network to Spacenets advanced VSAT platform, SkyEdge, for faster speeds and improved functionality that will be a benefit to its petroleum customers and advertisers. The solution provides Fuelcasts network with more frequent and faster programming/advertising updates that are sent via multicast to the entire network and offers a complete network solution from a national satellite provider.

Spacenet is working with leading technology partners to provide comprehensive solutions for retailers and businesses. Satellite serves as an ideal solution for reliable digital content distribution since it provides the ability to cost-effectively and rapidly deliver large volumes of content to multiple remote locations via multicast.

Fuelcast Chief Executive Officer John McLean said, Choosing a satellite infrastructure provides us with advantages over terrestrial alternatives since it is a consistent, reliable and scalable solution that provides efficient multicast capabilities to support our nationwide media network. We have seen tremendous benefits for our customers, including a robust and stable network environment.

Spacenet President and COO Glenn Katz said, Digital media applications are increasingly being used by retailers and businesses as a way to increase revenues and improve efficiencies. Broadcast applications like digital media are ideally suited to satellite due to its unique technology advantages, and Spacenet is leveraging an industry leading technology to support content distribution and emerging digital media applications. Fuelcast provides a valuable service by utilizing digital media capabilities for gas and convenience stores and enables its customers to increase ROI through advertising opportunities. We are confident that the advanced SkyEdge platform will provide Fuelcast with a reliable solution to support its nationwide digital media network.
