Fighting legal battles is one thing, and fighting cancer and hunger through a 5k run is another. Divorce attorneys and staff from the Moore Family Law Group donned their active gear and partook in the Stand Up to Cancer (SU2C) and Feeding America charitable 5k run. It was a perfect way for them to maintain fitness while giving back to those in need.
Senior Family Law Attorney Miruna Lujan was the first on the scene. An avid sports fan, she took to the pavement easily and completed the 5k run. Meanwhile, Executive Legal Assistant Vivian Figueroa hit the beach and completed a 5k with her whole family. It was a sight to see with strollers, pups, kids, and everything tagging along. Both ladies completed the “Be A Kind Human” SU2C event.
In a different event but still, for the benefit of SU2C, Chief Operating Officer Valerie Coleman took to the orchard trails. An outdoor-type and a very active person, “Run Wild” 5k was a breeze for her. Ms. Coleman practices martial arts and is supportive of the local law enforcement and first responder community.
Client relations Manager EV Guerra was not to be left behind. She spent her birthday supporting the Feeding America “I Run 4 Cake” 5k charity event. She literally helped people have their cake and eat it, too. Ms. Guerra brings 25 years of experience in consulting to the firm.
The Stand Up to Cancer (SU2C) organization aims to promote awareness and educate the public on cancer prevention. It also strives to help cancer patients overcome their situation and emerge as long-term survivors. Its primary objective is to raise funds to increase momentum in cancer therapy breakthroughs.
The Feeding America organization believes that hunger has no boundaries. Hunger affects especially those who are vulnerable – children, seniors, and victims of natural disasters. Feeding America programs get food to where people are and when they need it the most. Their network consists of 200 food banks and 60,000 food pantries across all states. Collectively, their network provides food to more than 40 million people in a year.
