The Walter Gerrells Performing Arts and Exhibition Center proudly announces an electrifying Norteño baile headlined by legendary recording artists Los Linderos del Norte, with special guests El “Chore” y su Grupo Andariego and DJ Hendawg, on Saturday, February 7, 2026. This all-ages, family-friendly event continues Carlsbad’s growing Norteño revival and promises a night of authentic regional Mexican music, dancing, and cultural celebration.
Founded in 1998 in Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua, Mexico, Los Linderos del Norte have earned a respected place in the Norteño canon through decades of consistent recording and touring. Known for their powerful accordion leads, driving bajo sexto, and emotionally resonant corridos and rancheras, the group blends traditional Norteño foundations with contemporary production. Over the years, Los Linderos del Norte have released numerous albums and built a devoted following across Mexico and the United States, becoming especially known for fan favorites such as “Como Olvidarte” and their energetic, dance-driven live performances. Their longevity and authenticity have made them a staple at major bailes and festivals throughout the Southwest.
Joining the lineup is El “Chore” y su Grupo Andariego, a regional Mexican act celebrated for its cantina-style Norteño sound and relatable storytelling. With popular tracks like “Amigos en las Cantinas,” the group has developed a loyal fan base by delivering upbeat, dance-floor-ready performances that connect strongly with multigenerational audiences. Their music reflects everyday themes of friendship, celebration, and life on the road, making them a natural fit for a high-energy baile environment.
Opening the evening is DJ Hendawg, a well-known regional DJ whose high-energy mixes of Norteño, Tejano, cumbia, and Latin party favorites help set the tone early and keep the crowd moving between live sets.
