Michael Truong Joins ExpressVPN and Kape’s Privacy Division as Chief Product Officer

ExpressVPN and Kape Technologies Digital Privacy Division are pleased to announce that Michael Truong has joined our team as Chief Product Officer.

Truong brings proven experience as a product manager. His most recent experience was as Head of Product and Analytics at Grab, one of the largest and most successful technology companies in all of Asia. There he led a team of hundreds of product managers and data analysts, enabling the delivery of services and product distribution to more than 32 million users per month. Before working at Grab, he was an early employee at Uber, where he led multiple teams to scale the product and business operations to cities around the world. His career in the technology industry spans more than 20 years in various countries including Canada, the United States, and Singapore. He started in the video game sector as a software engineer and producer, and later co-founded a start-up dedicated to creating educational applications for children. One of his apps was inducted into the iTunes Hall of Fame and he received the “iTunes Editor’s Choice” award ten times for ten different apps.

“Michael is a seasoned business leader and strategic product manager with a proven track record of growing products for global technology brands. He will be a key part of our management team and help us deliver on our mission to create a freer and more secure network, as well as drive profitable growth,” said Dan Pomerantz, Co-Founder of ExpressVPN, Co-General Manager of the Privacy Division of Kape and Non-Executive Director of Kape

Michael Truong commented: “Privacy and digital security are top priorities for everyone, especially now that we spend so much more time online. Kape includes in its portfolio some of the leading privacy brands in the market. We are at the forefront of meeting the enormous need for digital protection and privacy, an area with high growth.”

“On a personal level, I myself have been a very satisfied customer of ExpressVPN for years,” added Truong. “With TrustedServer technology and its audited policy of keeping no activity or connection logs, this machine has clearly set itself apart from the rest. It has an unwavering commitment to protecting the privacy of its clients. And with the recent releases of the Aircove VPN router and Keys password manager, the team is leading the industry in meeting ever-evolving customer needs. It’s an exciting space with tremendous growth, and I’m excited to create even more possibilities for our customers to protect their online activity.”

As part of their growth, ExpressVPN and Kape’s Privacy Division are recruiting for all functions of their globally distributed team, including their Singapore operations center where Truong will be based.
