Enhanced Pregnancy Insights and first-ever perimenopause experience deliver tailored, science-backed guidance, now combined with integrated menopause care through partnerships with Midi Health, Evernow, Maven Clinic, and Progyny
ŌURA, maker of the world’s leading smart ring, is deepening its leadership in women’s health with the launch of two new product offerings designed to support women through key life stages. A next-generation Pregnancy Insights experience provides comprehensive insights into how biometrics evolve throughout pregnancy, and a first-ever menopause tool, Perimenopause Check-In, helps members assess the impact of their symptoms through a clinically validated survey, track trends over time, and connect directly to expert care—all in-app. These launches build on Oura’s existing suite of personalized, clinically grounded features tailored for women—including Cycle Insights, Fertile Window, and Period Prediction—evolving the Oura App into a comprehensive health companion for women navigating reproductive health phases.
“We’re expanding the Oura experience to better reflect the deeply personal and varied realities of women’s health,” said Holly Shelton, chief product officer at Oura. “From pregnancy to perimenopause, women undergo profound physiological changes that have too often been dismissed or misunderstood. For generations, many have faced these transitions without the knowledge, resources, or care they deserve, and we’re committed to changing that. These launches represent a new chapter in health technology—one grounded in empathy and privacy, backed by science, and built on the belief that every stage of life deserves to be seen, understood, and supported.”
Pregnancy Insights Reimagined: Providing Personalized, Data-driven Information to Mothers-to-be
Pregnancy is a dynamic journey marked by significant biological, hormonal, and emotional changes, often accompanied by uncertainty about how one’s body is changing. Traditional prenatal care, often limited to periodic check-ins, leaves many women unsure of real-time shifts in their health that can occur on a daily basis. Pregnant people are often left with limited insight into what they can expect as they progress during pregnancy, and lack the continuity and sense of control many women seek during such a transformative time.
The upgraded Pregnancy Insights experience introduces new capabilities and enhancements based on scientific and population data. It now offers continuous, individualized, and contextualized tracking of physiological changes, informative educational content, and daily tools to help women interpret and navigate each phase of pregnancy more effectively. While many traditional prenatal care resources focus on understanding fetal development, Oura is focusing on the mother-to-be by defining common patterns of pregnancy, informed by biometric data from over 10,000 pregnancies, and introducing a novel approach to maternal insight and care. The foundational data supporting this experience will be presented at the World Sleep Meeting in Singapore this September, underscoring Oura’s scientific rigor and commitment to advancing public understanding of maternal health.
What’s new in Pregnancy Insights:
- Gestational Age Tracking: Members now see a refreshed homecard with updated trimester rings and expandable weekly insights for better discoverability and usability.
- Personalized Calibration for New Members: New members who join Oura during pregnancy and do not already have Oura data will enter a calibration state lasting seven to fifteen days, after which they will begin to see Pregnancy Trends. This ensures that all members enter the experience with an individualized, meaningful baseline.
- All-New Trend View: For the first time, members can visualize how key biometrics, including temperature trends, resting heart rate (RHR), heart rate variability (HRV), and respiratory rate, change across their pregnancy. This allows members to view their data by trimester or across the full length of their pregnancy and displays it alongside a reference range derived from anonymized and aggregated Oura population data. While Oura is not a diagnostic device, this ongoing visibility provides reassurance as members progress through pregnancy, helping them distinguish between expected fluctuations and patterns that may warrant a conversation with a care provider.
- “Keeping Track” Tagging System: Oura has added an easy-to-access location for members to tag symptoms, experiences, and emotions, called Keeping Track. Weekly messages based on scientific literature about common symptoms for the user’s gestational age are surfaced, prompting members to reflect and track what they’re experiencing.
- Expanded Tag Library: An expanded library of pregnancy-specific symptom tags, such as Braxton Hicks contractions, nausea, food aversions, pelvic pain, and skin changes, allows members to quickly add the changes they’re experiencing and better understand how they may be impacting their data.
- Integrated Educational Content: Developed in collaboration with leading women’s health experts, including Oura Medical Advisor and Reproductive Endocrinologist Eleni Jaswa, MD, the new Pregnancy Insights experience offers integrated educational content that helps demystify changes in sleep, recovery, and overall well-being. Through this, members gain practical context for how their metrics are expected to shift and how to navigate those changes with confidence.
In addition to the core feature redesign, Oura is introducing several pregnancy-aware updates across the app to deliver more personalized feedback:
- Contextualized Insights Messages: Biometrics like HRV, RHR, and temperature trends follow distinct, evidence-backed trajectories across pregnancy, providing valuable physiological insights for expectant mothers. Oura’s Readiness, Sleep, Rest Mode, and Recovery Mode insights messages now contextualize pregnancy so women can understand why their scores are impacted.
- Pregnancy-Aware Oura Advisor: Members can bring pregnancy into their conversations with Oura Advisor, gaining deeper context, education, and support throughout their journey.
- Pregnancy-Aware Cycle Insights: Oura now brings your reproductive health history into one streamlined view so members can explore how their data evolves before, during, and after pregnancy, including full visibility into their pregnancy and all past and current cycles when they return to Cycle Insights.
Together, these updates represent the most significant advancement in Oura’s women’s health offering since the launch of Period Prediction, marking a meaningful evolution of the pregnancy experience designed to meet members where they are in their unique health journey.
Introducing Perimenopause Check-In: Visibility, Validation, and Access to Care
Perimenopause remains one of the most overlooked phases in health and wellness, despite the fact that there are currently over one billion women worldwide either in perimenopause or post-menopause. Until now, women navigating perimenopause have had little access to tools that recognize the physiological complexity of this transition, let alone ones that combine real-time biometric data with clinical care pathways.
Perimenopause Check-In is the first solution of its kind to integrate validated symptom scoring, wearable data, and direct access to specialty care, all in one platform. The new tool empowers members to track symptoms, understand their impact, and secure care with greater confidence through a combination of structured self-assessment, health data visualization, and in-app care pathways.
Members begin by completing the 12-question Menopause Rating Scale (MRS) survey, which is one of the most thoroughly validated and widely used menopause symptom questionnaires, to receive a personalized assessment reflecting the severity of their symptoms and overall quality of life. Following survey completion, members receive a PDF report summarizing their symptoms, biometric trends, and cycle data that is designed to be easily shared with healthcare providers. They also gain access to a curated educational content hub that illuminates perimenopause symptoms, shares science-backed guidance, and features stories from real women navigating this life stage.
Depending on their health needs, members can access care from Oura’s network of women’s health partners, where care teams are equipped to utilize Oura’s biometric data to provide more informed, individualized support:
- Midi Health is the fastest-growing virtual clinic for women in midlife, offering insurance-covered care with a special focus on hormone health, perimenopause and menopause management, longevity, and aging well. Oura members can easily share their Perimenopause Report with Midi clinicians to help inform a personalized Care Plan, which may include hormonal or non-hormonal treatments, supplements, lifestyle coaching, and more.
- Evernow partners with women throughout their perimenopause and menopause journey, offering expert clinician-led care plans that include hormone therapy, personalized lifestyle support, supplements, and evidence-based treatments tailored to individual needs. With the Oura Member’s permission, Evernow physicians can utilize Oura data in care planning, including shareable reports from Oura such as Perimenopause, Sleep, and Cycle reports.
- Maven Clinic offers full-spectrum support across reproductive and midlife health, from fertility and pregnancy through to menopause and beyond. Their clinical teams and coaches will leverage Oura’s API-integrated data—including sleep, activity, stress, and soon, cycle trends—within care delivery.
- Progyny is a global leader in fertility, family building, and women’s health benefits, delivering personalized support through dedicated care advocates who provide one-on-one guidance throughout each member's unique health journey. Eligible Progyny members can benefit from incorporating Oura's enhanced insights into their care team decision-making process, supporting health goals and more data-driven care from preconception to menopause.
“With this offering, we’re connecting women with the care they deserve by uniting consumer health and clinical support in one seamless experience,” said Dorothy Kilroy, chief commercial officer at Oura. “These partnerships, and the infrastructure behind them, position Oura to lead not just in wearable tech, but in delivering real outcomes across women’s health—empowering earlier interventions, more informed decisions, and better care experiences.”
A Continued Commitment to Women’s Health Innovation
The launch of Pregnancy Insights and Perimenopause Check-In marks the latest evolution of Oura’s women’s health strategy. It comes on the heels of the three-year anniversary of Oura’s partnership with Natural Cycles and expands on collaborations with researchers at institutions including Scripps Research Digital Trials Center, Stanford University, the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of California, San Francisco to advance understanding of hormonal and reproductive health in understudied populations.
Oura is deeply committed to protecting member privacy, especially when it comes to sensitive women’s health data, and has technical and organizational safeguards to keep data safe and secure. Members maintain full control over their data rights, with transparent privacy settings and the ability to opt in or out of features at any time. As Oura expands into clinical partnerships with leading health providers, data sharing with third parties is only permitted if and when members choose to allow it. These collaborations are built on trust, clinical integrity, and a shared commitment to advancing care without compromising individual privacy.
Pregnancy Insights will roll out to all members on iOS and Android starting August 12. Perimenopause Check-In will be available to members based in the United States on both iOS and Android starting August 13, with plans to expand internationally by end of year.
