Lighthouse's Fernando Delgado Named to vLex Fastcase 50 List

Lighthouse, a leader in technology-enabled eDiscovery and information governance services, announced today that Fernando A. Delgado, PhD, Executive Director of AI & Analytics, has been named to the 2025 vLex Fastcase 50 list. This annual award recognizes the innovators, visionaries, and leaders who are transforming how legal services are delivered worldwide.

Delgado has 20 years of experience in the legal technology space and recently earned his PhD from Cornell University with a dissertation, Participation and Transparency in AI System Design and Integration, that broke new ground in “Participatory AI.” His research championed an approach where stakeholders are involved from the moment a problem is defined, shaping not just features and interfaces, but the very scope, structure, and governance of the system.

“Fernando’s work, both in academia and here at Lighthouse, is rooted in the belief that the most transformative AI happens when technology is co-designed with its users,” said Lon Troyer, Vice President of Review & Advanced Analytics. “Coupled with his operational acumen, that belief has powered our ability to bring groundbreaking generative AI solutions to market at unprecedented speed and scale.”

That combination of vision and execution has characterized Delgado’s AI leadership since early 2023, when he spearheaded the launch of the industry’s first operational generative AI solution for privilege log generation. In the short time since, he has led the rapid expansion of Lighthouse’s generative AI portfolio, tackling novel challenges such as:

  • Analyzing, describing, and categorizing image-based data,
  • Automating issue topic assignment for documents in review, and
  • Accelerating quality control at every stage of the review process

True to his commitment to fit-for-purpose tools, these solutions are engineered for the largest and most complex eDiscovery matters—capable of processing millions of documents across diverse data types and jurisdictions, all while maintaining defensibility and ethical rigor.

Delgado’s inclusion in the vLex Fastcase 50 honors both his scholarly contributions to the theory and practice of AI in law, and his ability to turn that vision into scalable, real-world innovation that helps clients reduce risk, surface insight faster, and meet the demands of today’s data landscape with confidence.
