Firm’s honorees span wide range of legal specialties
Six Hicks Thomas attorneys, including five first-time honorees, have been selected for the 2025 Lawdragon 500 X – The Next Generation list, a legal guide that spotlights the nation’s top up-and-coming legal talent.
This year’s honorees include D. Ryan Cordell, Jr., Allison Fisher, Jessica K. Little, Clarissa R. Medrano, Aleza Remis, and Jessica Wahl. Their selection across six commercial litigation categories reflects the depth and range of the firm’s litigation practice.
“This recognition reflects the caliber of young lawyers we’re fortunate to have at Hicks Thomas,” said partner John B. Thomas. “These lawyers are already delivering meaningful results for clients, and we expect them to play a key role in the firm’s continued growth.”
Mr. Cordell, who was recognized for mass torts and personal injury litigation excellence, is a three-time "Next Generation" honoree. He handles cases involving contract disputes, tortious business conduct, trade secret misappropriation, and intellectual property infringement.
Ms. Fisher, a first-time honoree for environmental law, also focuses on personal injury and business litigation. A three-time Super Lawyers Rising Stars honoree, her legal experience is augmented by management experience at theater organizations around the country.
Ms. Little is honored for excellence in health care representation. She handles cases involving energy, technology, drug testing, financial services, consumer products, and the food industry as well. Her work has also been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America for four consecutive years.
Ms. Medrano was named to the Lawdragon list for expertise in managed care litigation. In addition to advising clients on issues involving medical benefits, she deals with insurance coverage, insurance defense, and business and commercial disputes.
Ms. Remis, who as a federal prosecutor led the Justice Department’s Texas Health Care Fraud Strike Force, is also a first-time honoree for health care litigation. Her work includes cases involving Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance fraud, in addition to civil cases falling under the False Claims Act.
Ms. Wahl, the firm’s fifth first-time Lawdragon 500 X honoree, was recognized in the emerging data privacy sector. She also handles a wide range of cases involving commercial and contract disputes, product liability, mass torts, and environmental litigation.
Lawdragon selects honorees through nominations, independent research, and peer recommendations. See the full list here.
