New role to advance Knowmadics’ unified product roadmap for its 360° Aware® product ecosystem, drive AI-native engineering and accelerate R&D outcomes
Knowmadics, a trusted provider of advanced electronic warfare (EW) and vertical software solutions for government and commercial clients, today announced the promotion of Dr. Michael Jenkins to the newly created role of Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO). The appointment signals a strategic milestone in the company’s growth and underscores its mission to empower national security operators to predict threats, act decisively, and mitigate risk in contested environments.
Jenkins’ appointment comes as Knowmadics experiences accelerating momentum, driven by double-digit revenue growth, rising demand for modern EW and C5ISR alternatives, and an expanding base of national security customers.
As CPTO, Jenkins will lead Knowmadics’ product and technology strategy and continued development and expansion of its flagship software brand, 360° Aware, which delivers real-time situational awareness, threat detection and characterization, and a common operational picture. In addition, he will spearhead the next evolution of 360° Aware through applied R&D to integrate artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) to transform multisource sensor and signal data into actionable intelligence and intelligent autonomy.
“Creating the CPTO role aligns our technical direction with the needs of our mission partners,” said Claire Ostrum, President of Knowmadics. “Michael has been a trusted internal resource and active across our government and industry relationships. His leadership ensures that we scale responsibly, with an unwavering focus on delivering user-focused, resilient, real-time solutions where and when they’re needed most.”
In his previous role as Knowmadics Chief Scientist, Jenkins was instrumental in driving the development of real-time intelligence systems that fuse spectrum analysis, AI/ML, and IoT devices, and paired these with systematic testing and live exercise feedback loops - to quickly solve complex operational problems.
“Our customers face complex and evolving challenges at unprecedented speed,” said Jenkins. “As a Cognitive Systems and Human Factors Engineer, I’ve spent my career at the intersection of people, technology, and mission-critical operations. At Knowmadics, that perspective is essential. As CPTO, my focus is on delivering a unified product and technology roadmap that redefines defense technology through AI-driven Cyber and EW convergence. Leveraging our proven success with 360° Aware and deep expertise in EW, applied AI, intelligent automation, and human factors, we are positioning Knowmadics at the forefront of next-generation national security innovation.”
Jenkins holds a PhD in Cognitive Systems Engineering, Master's Degrees in Human Factors in Information Design and Industrial Engineering, and an MBA. With over 20 years of experience, he has partnered with organizations including DARPA, SOCOM, AFRL, ONR, NAVAIR, NASA, DOE, and DHS. He has been a trusted subject matter expert for SOCOM, NIWC, and NASA initiatives. He is widely published on adaptive and non-traditional human-machine interfaces, applied AI, situational awareness, and human-machine / autonomy teaming.
The creation of the CPTO role aligns with Knowmadics’ long-term commitment to operational relevance and strategic innovation. Through ongoing investment in AI-driven engineering, internal R&D, and collaborations with customers, universities and industry partners, the company is scaling its impact and delivering agile, secure, and adaptive solutions that meet the mission, now and in the future.
