Marquis Who's Who Honors Benjamin Abdulnour, Esq., For Advocacy in Legal Representation

Championing Justice from the Courtroom to the Community: Benjamin Abdulnour Launches ATLAS Defense Law After a Distinguished Legal Career

UNIONDALE, NY / ACCESS Newswire / May 22, 2025 / Benjamin Abdulnour, Esq., has been honored by Marquis Who's Who for his advocacy in legal representation in multiple fields. After 15 years of accomplishments and experience, he is honored to announce the opening of his own law firm: ATLAS Defense Law.

Most recently, Mr. Abdulnour was the managing attorney running the Fort Myers branch of the Pendas Law Firm and served as the senior trial attorney for all cases statewide. Prior to that, he consistently excelled at Morgan & Morgan, P.A. Before that, he lived in a courtroom fighting for the individual within the criminal justice system. He holds more than 15 years of experience as an attorney and currently practices law in the state of Florida.

A Passion for Justice

From an early age, Mr. Abdulnour wanted to be a trial attorney. He regarded this role as the "pinnacle of justice and artistry." Having a competitive nature and a love for debate, he was always primed to battle for what was right. A law career was a natural choice for someone like him and a good fit for his academic pursuits.

Mr. Abdulnour earned a dual bachelor's degree in philosophy and political science from the University of Florida in 2006 and then a Juris Doctor from Florida State University College of Law in 2009.

After graduation, Mr. Abdulnour started his law career with a position at the Law Offices of the Public Defender of the 20th Judicial Circuit. As an assistant public defender, he utilized his skills to defend those charged with various types of crimes. His defense of juvenile student-aged children became a major achievement in his law career and remains black-letter law today.

One particular ambiguity in Florida state law allowed judges to imprison children with habitual truancy who hadn't committed any crimes. Mr. Abdulnour repeatedly filed a writ of habeas corpus to defend his student clients, which eventually resulted in a written decision that ended this statewide practice.

"I was fortunate enough to defend several children who had not committed any crime but were still being illegally locked up behind bars as if they were juvenile delinquents. When the judge did not listen to me, I was forced to file several appeals. Ultimately, I was successful and obtained a written decision that eliminated the ability of judges to incarcerate truant kids. They were being locked up with serious juvenile delinquents, and a lot of them were being victimized while they were locked up. The appeal that I fought for and personally wrote was eventually granted a written decision," Mr. Abdulnour explains.

The writ of habeas corpus is still published on Westlaw, an online legal research platform for lawyers.

During his time as a defense attorney, Mr. Abdulnour successfully argued for judgments of acquittal and not-guilty verdicts for his clients even when they were facing intimidating maximum sentences, including life behind bars.

Transitioning to Personal Injury

After seven years as a defense attorney and only working on criminal trials, Mr. Abdulnour decided to switch to practicing personal injury law. After a two-year stint as an associate attorney at Cole, Scott & Kissane, he went to work for one of the largest personal injury law practices in the United States, Morgan & Morgan P.A.

For the last two years, Mr. Abdulnour has served as the Managing Office Chief and Statewide Senior Trial Attorney at the Pendas Law Firm P.A., where his daily duties include supervising another attorney and an eight-person support staff. He considers himself hypercompetitive, and this trait has aided his fight for his personal injury clients to secure victories in court.

The Next Chapter: ATLAS Defense Law LLC

Mr. Abdulnour plans to continue his career fighting against the prison-industrial complex and for-profit insurance companies. His new firm in Fort Myers, Florida, will specialize in car crashes, criminal arrests, hurricane damage, and wills: ATLAS Defense Law.
