LVMH CTO Antoine Tessier Joins Bonder’s Advisory Board Exclusively to Revolutionize the Retail Industry

Louis Vuitton veteran and technical expert Tessier will help integrate the Bonder platform within retail stores globally, revitalizing the retailer-customer relationship and retail experience.

Antoine Tessier, Chief Technology Officer of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (OTC: LVMHF), has officially joined Bonder’s Board of Advisors as the location-based communication platform’s CTO. This is his first and only board position. Tessier will help Bonder to improve new and existing integration and innovation within the platform by providing large-scale technical direction. Tessier believes Bonder will ignite a renaissance for retail stores by reshaping the traditional retailer-customer relationship and redefining the shopping experience across the entire retail industry.

Tessier joined Bonder because he resonated with the platform’s vision for the future of retail, where consumers seek local, curated, personal relationships. During the pandemic, Tessier noted an increase in the yearning for human interaction and community building among retail consumers. In Bonder, Tessier found an actualized answer to this yearning that was beyond his expectations.

“Post-pandemic, we’ve seen an increased need to support local communities and businesses,” said Tessier. “Retail, which struggled during the pandemic, is catching up fast, and people are at the center because consumers have realized the importance of human interactions. Bonder is answering this need that every retailer and customer has.”

Tessier says that brands have incorporated customers’ need for engagement, collaboration, and discussion of mutually important topics, which humanizes brands. Retail stores have yet to embrace this.

In retail stores, Bonder helps curate deeper, more intertwined, and ongoing connections between stores and customers in ways that social media and e-commerce platforms like Amazon or online sales can only dream of. By eliminating the need for numerous retail brand apps, Bonder is a direct tool for users to instantly find and buy products, chat with in-store employees, apply exclusive discounts, and join private communities within local stores they frequent.

For example, if a Bonder user were to approach a retail store like Best Buy, the platform would display the store and every staff member in each department, enabling them to message those employees collectively or individually with questions. Additionally, customers join that store's community and message other shoppers who are also using the platform in the immediate vicinity. After shopping, Bonder users can stay connected to the store, staff, and fellow customers to network and socialize around products or other store-related topics.

Tessier says the personal retailer-customer relationship Bonder facilitates will also help drive further sales and engagement. Businesses can nurture loyal customer bases and encourage them to stay connected with a particular store community by providing access to updates, special events, or exclusive services or offers.

“Bonder is building local relationships that are less about the sale and more in the interest of genuine interactions – talking to and learning from each other. This investment in genuine interactions builds trust and will translate to repeat customers and additional organic sales,” said Tessier.

Without calling 1-800 numbers or hunting down store employees, shoppers are empowered to connect with brands authentically and with employees who can answer product questions, enhancing the overall buying experience and potentially generating sales before, during, or even after the customer visits the retailer.

With Tessier’s help, Bonder will close the gap between the digital world and the real world by leveraging technology to establish private ecosystems – ecosystems of people helping people – that benefit their daily needs.

Tessier has over seventeen years of experience in the retail industry. Before becoming Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of LVMH Americas, Tessier worked at Louis Vuitton for 12 years, ascending to multiple roles, including International Project Leader, Senior Manager of Digital and Retail, Director of Digital and Retail, and Chief Technology Officer. LVMH, one of Europe’s most valuable companies (according to Statista), made over $18 billion in the first quarter of 2022, thanks to its luxury brands like Sephora, Tiffany & Co., Louis Vuitton, Bulgari, Marc Jacobs, and more.

Bonder brings people together for meaningful, productive interactions and immersive human experiences and encounters. Unlike social apps, Bonder users are not treated as data points. The platform fosters ecosystems of people helping people in neighborhoods and businesses as they move through their day without the surveillance, advertising, or data collection predominant on social media apps.
