Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.

On July 18, 2017, the Board of Directors of Sonoco Products Company accepted the resignation, effective immediately, from board member Edgar “Ed” H. Lawton, III. Mr. Lawton did not indicate any disagreement with the registrant on any matter relating to the registrant’s operations, policies or practices, and no executive officer of the registrant is aware of any such disagreement.
