On August 11, 2011, Fortune Brands, Inc. (the “Company”), issued a press release reporting preliminary results for its previously announced tender offers of certain Company notes for up to an aggregate purchase price of $1 billion. The Company also announced that it has increased the maximum aggregate purchase price of Company notes that may be purchased in the tender offers from $1 billion to $1.05 billion and, due to the success of its tender offers to date, that it is terminating the tender offers for certain Company notes. The press release is attached herewith as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
