                                 SkyePharma PLC - Shareholders call for Extraordinary General Meeting

LONDON, UK, 30 January 2006 - SkyePharma PLC (LSE: SKP; Nasdaq: SKYE) announces that, further to the announcement issued on 20
January 2006, the Company has received notice from certain shareholders calling for an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) and
including a call for resolutions to remove Ian Gowrie-Smith as a director with immediate effect; to appoint Robert Thian as a
director in place of Mr. Gowrie-Smith; and to remove any other person other than Robert Thian appointed as a director of the company
between the date of requisition of the EGM and the date of the EGM.

The Company is currently considering this notice, and the resolutions therein, and a further announcement will be made in due course.
