BRAC Developments create an impressive roof development for Tait House

The roof airspace redevelopment specialist is set to, quite literally, take the north London building to new heights.

January 26, 2021 / /

London, UK: Essex-based roof development specialists BRAC Developments have officially started work on an exciting airspace conversion that will transform a large three-storey residential building into a four-storey complex to provide new homes in a very popular part of the capital city.

An Airspace Development In N19

Working in partnership with Architects Ackroyd Lowrie, the new airspace development of Tait House on Ward Road, N19 will add three new luxurious self-contained two-bedroom apartments on the existing roof of the residential building. Each of the flats also provides a private amenity space to bring a luxury style for future occupants.

The high-quality extensions, that adds an additional storey to the top of the building, will not impact surrounding residential complexes as Tait House originally stood a little lower than the adjacent neighbouring dwellings.

BRAC Developments worked tirelessly throughout the planning phases to ensure that the new airspace development can keep with the general aesthetic and integrity of the existing building as well as the neighbouring properties on Ward Road. High-quality zinc cladding and grey aluminium windows are key features that truly hit the sweet spot.

In addition to the continued line of street scene, the specialists have used off-site modular manufacturing processes to achieve a fast and minimally disruptive installation process. The project itself is set to add three incredible homes in a sought=after location that will improve the street’s appeal and appearance without negatively impacting the lives of existing residents.

Building on past experiences of similar redevelopments, BRAC Developments has planned ahead by incorporating various amenities, including a designated waste storage area that works with the existing lift. This is in addition to the ground floor bikeshed and other communal features of Tait House.

The makeover is set to transform the residential building’s external appearance, making it the highlight of Ward Road while simultaneously creating new homes in one of Islington’s most popular areas. Thanks to the off-site manufacturing and collaboration with Architects Ackroyd Lowrie, BRAC Developments aims to complete the airspace development in the coming months. Once finished, Tait House will look bigger and better than ever.
