Tech Start-Up Brings Music To The Golf Course

By: PRLog
LOS ANGELES - Oct. 16, 2018 - PRLog -- There is a long standing relationship between music and sports. Music is played at almost every professional sports competition, where it is broadcasted for the enjoyment of both audiences and players. It is useful to individual athletes as well, such as competitive runners who set their pace by the rhythm of a favorite song. Moreover, athletes of every type often listen to music in order to "psych up" before training or to cool down after a game.

Golf has never been the type of sport that has a nexus with music, but that doesn't mean the same psychological benefits of music cannot be applied to a relatively silent sport. Instead, music tends to be absent from both training and informal competition among golfers because there are limited means of playing it over a vast 5,000 to 7,000-yard course.

The prevalence of smartphones has made music more accessible, but existing technologies limit golfers as it requires the use of headphones or portable speakers that bear their own inconvenience. While headphones may distract listeners from their game and surrounding environment, high-quality speakers are typically cumbersome and ill-suited to the golf course.

Tune Driver Technologies is a tech startup striving to eliminate these limitations and provide golfers with the means to easily listen to music while on the range or golf course.  With their unique, patented design, Tune Driver has a product that can conveniently provide audio enjoyment to golfers, which may actually help them improve their game.

The Tune Driver Bluetooth speaker is designed specifically for use on the golf course, allowing for easy portability without sacrificing excellent sound quality. The rechargeable, battery operated speaker is shaped just like the head of a driver and is affixed to a 42" shaft, so as to fit perfectly in a golf bag.

The makers of Tune Driver  hope to provide golfers with the same benefits that are already enjoyed by so many professional and amateur athletes. Research in sports psychology identified several key benefits to having music in a sporting environment, such as regulation of emotional impulses, synchronization of movement, and attainment of "flow" in one's performance. It is easy to see how these benefits could positively affect the game of golf.

For individual, on-course practice, the rhythm of particular songs may assist golfers in timing the movements of their drive. On the course during a friendly competition, shared music may boost motivation, help players overcome fatigue or manage the frustration that accompanies disappointing performance.

"Music has been absent from golf for too long," says a spokesperson for Tune Driver. "We believe this speaker provides a much-needed benefit to golfers of every skill level. We have confidence that they will find it improves their performance and gives them a deeper appreciation of their time on the links."
