Dollar steadies in post-Christmas trade

The U.S. dollar on Tuesday see muted trade, with currency investors expecting tepid activity in as investors attempt a tentative return from a day off for most markets on Christmas. Many European markets also are closed Tuesday in observance of Boxing day.
