Alexion to buy Synageva

Alexion
Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Nasdaq: ALXN) will pay a premium of approximately
$8.4
billion in cash and stock to acquire Synageva BioPharma Corp. (Nasdaq:
GEVA). Shares of Alexion plummeted $16.58 to $151.97 while Synageva
stock more than doubled by leaping $109.11 to  $204.98.
