A certified Optometric Glaucoma Specialist with eight years of clinical experience, Dr. Reuter brings an exceptional track record in managing ocular disease and co-managing surgical cases, including refractive and cataract procedures. He joins the Brooks Eye team with a strong foundation in high-volume medical settings, emphasizing patient-centered education and care.

Originally from Springfield, Missouri, Dr. Reuter earned his Doctor of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry and has since worked in both private and group practice settings across Texas. His clinical interests include refractive surgery, cataract co-management, and the use of leading-edge tools, such as amniotic membrane grafts, for corneal care.
Dr. Reuter’s passion for refractive and surgical co-management stems from the satisfaction of helping patients experience life with renewed clarity. “Being part of a patient’s journey to better vision — especially for those undergoing LASIK or cataract surgery — is incredibly rewarding,” he shared. “It’s an honor to help people achieve something they’ve never had before: clear, unaided vision.”
In addition to his technical acumen, Dr. Reuter emphasizes the importance of clear communication and clarity. Known for his warm and approachable demeanor, he takes the time to ensure that each patient fully understands their condition and the treatment options available to them. Dr. Reuter completed clinical externships across the country, including at Dishler Laser Institute in Colorado, Braverman Eye Center in Florida, and the Providence Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Rhode Island. His wide-ranging experiences have allowed him to work alongside LASIK and cataract surgeons, neuro-ophthalmologists, and ocular disease specialists, shaping him into a well-rounded, collaborative optometrist.
He’s also highly proficient in technologies such as corneal topography and anterior segment OCT. He has successfully managed a wide array of complex clinical cases, including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and corneal disease.
When he’s not in the clinic, Dr. Reuter enjoys cooking, playing golf, traveling, and spending quality time with his family. He lives in McKinney, Texas, with his wife, son, and German Shepherd, and they’re expecting a new addition to the family — a second baby boy — in the summer of 2025.
A proud University of Arkansas alum, Dr. Reuter was a member of the Razorback drumline and still enjoys cheering on his alma mater.
