Reflecting of the progress so far in 2023 as a launchpad for what lies ahead
As we approach the Labor Day weekend, it's a good time to both reflect upon and celebrate all the customer-focused product developments Wallarm has released so far this year. The journey we've embarked upon has been nothing short of remarkable, filled with innovation, collaboration, and dedicated effort. From the drawing board to development and testing to refinement, our team has shown unwavering commitment to turning ideas into reality.
The team has been working tirelessly on improvements which cover the full breadth and depth of the Wallarm integrated App and API Security platform. These include:
- Additional API Security Capabilities to mitigate the rapidly evolving API threat landscape.
- Expanded Deployment and Integration Options to minimize complexity during set-up and operations.
- Improved Usability to enhance workflows and reduce workloads.
Additional API Security Capabilities
Some of the improvements in the protection of web applications and APIs include everything from API Leak Management and API Abuse Prevention to continuous improvements against threats like Broken Object Level Authorization (BOLA), Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF), JSON-based SQL Injection (SQLi), and JSON Web Token attacks. For a more complete list, please consult the Wallarm Changelog.
Furthermore, customers now have deeper insight into their readiness with two newly released OWASP API Security Top-10 dashboards, covering both the older 2019 version and the recently released 2023 version.
Expanded Deployment and Integration Options
In addition to our standard polymorphic deployment options, Wallarm has expanded the number of connectors which customers can use to leverage, including Azion Edge, Akamai Edge, MuleSoft, Google Apigee, and AWS Lambda. This allows customers to secure all their web apps and APIs by creating only one component in their current infrastructure.
Wallarm is also supporting customers’ need to streamline operations by expanding native integrations with common DevOps, security, and collaboration tools. Recent additions to the growing list of supported tools include AWS S3, Atlassian Jira, Microsoft Sentinel, and ServiceNow. This allows customers to minimize complexity, leverage their existing tech stack, and minimize learning curve to improve their overall security posture.
Improved Usability
As everyone involved in cybersecurity knows, it’s exceedingly difficult to stay ahead of adversaries. It involves pulling together data from disparate systems, sorting through it looking for clues, and discovering the proverbial needle in the haystack which leads to an attack, a breach or worse.
Wallarm continually endeavors to simplify workflows and reduce workloads in a myriad of ways. Some of the improvements delivered in 2023 include the areas of visibility and customization.
- Visibility. From API Discovery dashboard upgrades to improved API endpoint identification and request statistics, customers are always looking for a more user-friendly, easy-to-navigate, and lightweight way to understand their current security posture.
- Customization. From customizable risk scoring to tailored vulnerability and malicious request search, customers need the ability to easily drill down into what’s important to them so they can move quickly from detection to response and recovery.
Thoughts from the Wallarm Executive Team
As we pause to appreciate the strides we've made, Ivan Novikov, CEO and co-founder of Wallarm, stated that: “This year has been an incredible testament to the power of ingenuity and teamwork. Our products have evolved beyond expectations, thanks to the sheer brilliance and dedication of our development teams. Thanks to them, the sky is not the limit for our customers – it's just the beginning!”
