In celebration of National Pickleball Month in April, the Kendall-based club offers practice courts to local U.S. Open Pickleball contenders.
MIAMI, FL / ACCESS Newswire / March 28, 2025 / DETA Pickleball Club announced Thursday that it will send its first-ever team to compete in the prestigious US Open Pickleball Championships in Naples, April 26 - May 3.
This marks a milestone for the club, the largest pickleball facility in Miami-Dade County with 17 dedicated championship courts, underscoring its commitment to the development of pickleball in the community.
DETA Pickleball Club's sponsorship of a team for this national tournament reflects the dedication and hard work of the club's players and coaches and the increasing popularity of pickleball in South Florida.

To celebrate National Pickleball Month, DETA is opening its courts to all players competing in the U.S. Open tournament, providing practice courts to train and sharpen their skills from 7 - 10 p.m. on Friday nights.

For Adrian Palacios, 19, a former tennis player, the opportunity to compete at the U.S. Open representing DETA Pickleball Club is a privilege.
"I began playing pickleball for fun," Palacios said. "I never imagined I would have the opportunity to compete in something beyond the local level. I am honored to represent the club and take my game to a bigger stage."
The club staged qualifiers, inviting its members to compete for a spot on the seven-player team. After intense competition, the final team quickly emerged.
"Choosing our team wasn't easy - it was a tough process, with our regulars battling it out on the court. Many talented club members took part in the process, but the final seven stood out. Their skills, teamwork, and dedication made them the perfect representatives for our club," Ensignia said.
DETA Invites Pickleball Players to Help Train, Test Players
The DETA Pickleball Club U.S. Open team practices every Friday evening, and the public is welcome to watch. Pickleball players with a DUPR rating of 3.50 or higher are invited to join DETA's team preparations. This training is especially important as the U.S. Open Pickleball Championships, one of the sport's most prestigious events, draws top players from across the nation to compete for titles and recognition.
Pickleball's success and popularity is mirrored by the support of big brands. Babolat, a leading tennis brand, supports DETA's team, supplying the players with footwear to ensure top performance and paddles.
