Among the many treasures displayed are bronze masks, ceremonial altars, and the iconic gold mask, all of which reflect the advanced artistry and spiritual depth of the Shu civilization. Visitors will witness the awe-inspiring Bronze Mask with Crown and Protruding Eyes, a unique piece that hints at the spiritual and ceremonial practices of the ancient Shu people, as well as the Bronze Head Wearing Gold Mask, striking artifact first unearthed in 1986 that suggests a unique fusion between status and ritual.
For the first time in New York, guests will have the chance to experience these extraordinary relics through cutting-edge VR technology, which brings the larger-than-life pieces, such as the Large Standing Man and the Bronze Sacred Tree, directly into the gallery space through virtual exploration. The result is an unparalleled opportunity to encounter an ancient civilization up close, with modern innovations offering new ways to engage with the past.
