WSP USA Embraces Opportunity to Improve Equity in San Francisco Bay Area

By: 3BL Media

SOURCE: WSP

DESCRIPTION:

WSP USA eagerly embraces challenge & opportunity to improve quality of life for underserved & marginalized communities in the San Francisco Bay Area. Metropolitan Transportation Commission selected WSP as its 2020 equity consultant - Cycle 1, led by Gabi Brazzil, WSP contract manager & community partner & engagement project manager, & Allie Reilly, environmental justice project manager. Gabi:

"I am encouraged to see continued urgency around equity. MTC recognizes that benefits or burdens in one category like transportation will echo across others like housing, economic development, climate & environment. We look forward to partnering with MTC to deliver equitable outcomes. This age-old principle still rings true: When you know better, do better. WSP is committed to continual learning to fully realize past, current & future inequities, addressing them with empathy & curating proactive & responsive strategies." Allie: "It’s exciting that MTC has elevated equity in their mission. I hope we can support MTC to address historic environmental injustices in the region & lay a foundation for an equitable future as the Bay Area continues to experience the impacts & consequences of climate change."
