On August 22, 2006, First Community Bancshares, Inc. announced by press release its Third Quarter 2006 cash dividend of $0.26 per share, payable on or about September 29, 2006, to shareholders of record on September 15, 2006. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
