Principal Officers

On April 28, 2006, Buckeye Technologies Inc. announced that Ms. Virginia Wetherell has been elected to serve as a member of the Company’s Board of Directors effective May 1, 2006 increasing the size of the Buckeye Board of Directors from nine members to ten and increasing the number of independent Directors from five to six. A copy of the related press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1.
