Item 8.01                      Other Events

On July 30, 2009, First Community Bancshares, Inc. (the “Company”) announced that TriStone Community Bank shareholders approved the merger with and into First Community Bank, N. A., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company. The Company expects the transaction to close by July 31, 2009.
